Hi I'm Karrie!

Hi, I’m Karrie, your history and geography teacher! I have loved teaching others and learning about the past since I was very young. Over the past fifteen years I’ve taught college students, children in Sunday School, families at co-ops, and tutored homeschool children. With a Master of Arts in History, I can share my love of the past and the stories of those people and where they lived with other families.

As a believer in Christ, my classes will be taught from a Christian-worldview. When I’m not homeschooling, I enjoy reading, swimming, baking, walking my dog, keeping my fruit plants alive, and movie nights with my family.

About Springboard Scholars

My passion and area of study was history, and it is truly wonderful! But why stop at history? When we learn about the past, let’s dive into the world of the people who lived in that time and place. Where does the story take place? What’s the climate like and how did that influence their culture? Did the people leave behind any writings or music? Have archaeologists found art from that time? Are there any cool plants or animals indigenous to that region? These questions… and answers!... create a whole image of the historical world we learn about together. Join us!

Grab a journal or notebook, some pens and colored pencils, and let’s learn history at home together in a way that fits in with your family’s homeschool schedule.

How it works:

  • Choose the topic and period of study.

  • Choose the time of week to watch.

  • Choose how many days you’ll watch each week.

  • Choose any enrichment activities you want to add.
